What is the difference between a captain only and a full crew?

A captain sails the boat. A crew runs your week: the cooking, the toys, the mooring, the shore trips and the provisioning.

On the smaller boats in the chain, around 40 to 50 feet, the captain often works alone and you cook for yourselves. From roughly 55 feet up there is a chef, and that is the single biggest change in how a week feels.

In the Grenadines the chef matters more than usual, because the island shops are small and eating ashore is limited. We would steer almost any group towards a crewed boat with a chef here.
