From London, Virgin Atlantic’s service touches down in Barbados and continues to St Vincent on the same aircraft, so there is no plane change and no baggage recheck.
Schedules on these routes shift by season, and some frequencies drop outside the winter peak. We confirm current schedules against your charter dates when you book, so you are never planning around a flight that stopped running in the shoulder season.
Flying into St Vincent puts you about 20 minutes by road from Blue Lagoon, the main charter base on the island’s south coast. If your yacht boards there, this is the route to beat.

Via Barbados to the Grenadines
Barbados (BGI) has the deepest long-haul schedule in this corner of the Caribbean, with direct long-haul service from the US, Canada, and the UK. From there, the Grenadine Air Alliance (SVG Air and Mustique Airways together) runs scheduled hops connecting Barbados with St Vincent, Bequia, Canouan, and Union Island, and Mustique Airways operates a daily shared charter into Mustique. The hop itself is short; the planning detail that matters is that these flights operate in daylight only, sunrise to sunset. If your flight lands in Barbados late afternoon, we plan a night on the island and a morning hop, and the connection stops being stressful.
This is the route we recommend when your charter starts in the islands rather than on St Vincent itself. One honest note on Union Island. Hurricane Beryl hit it hard as a Category 4 storm on July 1, 2024. As of 2026 the island is open, the airport is operating on a freshly renovated runway, and the Tobago Cays a few miles north came through with their beauty intact. Recovery is still visible ashore, and we tell clients that plainly, but Union works again as an arrival point and the anchorages around it remain the best in the country.
Board in Grenada or St Lucia
The third route skips SVG’s airports entirely: fly to Grenada or St Lucia, both of which carry strong direct service from the US and UK, and board your yacht there. From Grenada you cruise north through Carriacou into the Grenadines; from St Lucia you come south past St Vincent. Either way you see the same water, just in a different order.
This is less of a workaround than it sounds. The SVG fleet is smaller than what you would find in the BVI or the Bahamas, and many of the yachts we book for Grenadines weeks are based in neighboring islands and position in for the charter anyway. Where the yachts actually start
Most SVG charters board at Blue Lagoon on St Vincent’s south coast or in Bequia’s Admiralty Bay. Blue Lagoon pairs with a flight into Argyle; Bequia pairs with the Barbados hop or a short ride from St Vincent. Mustique, Canouan, and Union Island all work as boarding points too when the itinerary or the yacht’s position argues for it.
The mistake we see is booking flights first and treating boarding as a detail. Book nonrefundable flights into the wrong island and you spend day 1 of your vacation in transit instead of at anchor. The fix is simple: this is a conversation, not a puzzle you solve alone.

There is also a ferry from Kingstown on St Vincent to Bequia, and the crossing takes about 1 hour. We mention it as a scenic option, not a recommendation: it is a real working ferry with a schedule built for residents, not for charter guests moving luggage on embarkation day. If your flight lands at Argyle and your yacht boards in Bequia, we will usually put you on the short flight or arrange the transfer that fits your arrival time, and keep the ferry for a day trip once you are settled.

Book the flights that suit your city and schedule, then let us match the boarding point, or reverse it and let the itinerary pick the airport. From the US East Coast, direct to Argyle is hard to beat. From London, Virgin’s through-service to St Vincent and the Barbados-to-Bequia hop are both proven.
